Irfan Ahmed Nazir is a doctoral candidate at the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, India. His doctoral research examines the national identity debates in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and their implications for school education. His other research interests include the state, society and foreign policy of the UAE, international relations and politics of the Middle East, and migration and diaspora issues focusing on the South Asia-Gulf corridor.
